I am a postdoctoral researcher interested in the neurophysiological and behavioural effects of non-invasive brain stimulation, with an emphasis on the emerging transcranial ultrasound stimulation (TUS) technique. I obtained an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy from Manipal University, India and a Masters in Biokinesiology from the University of Southern California (USC), USA. My PhD research was done partly at USC and partly at the University of Groningen, Netherlands. Here, I examined the neural control of standing balance using a combination of transcranial magnetic stimulation and biomechanical measures. Subsequently, I worked as a postdoc at the University of Oxford where I worked on novel TUS techniques and examined the anatomical contributions to transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) response variability. In Til Ole Bergmann’s Neurostimulation group, I will continue with the TUS work with an aim to build the foundation for clinical translation.
