I am a Postdoctoral Researcher with a multi-disciplinary background in both clinical and academic settings ranging from projects in the area of sleep research, cognitive science, machine learning, and BCI. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, followed by a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. In my MSc thesis, I investigated the contribution of sleep macro- and micro-structures in encoding emotional information, emphasizing the novel sleep micro-structure known as cyclic alternating pattern (CAP). I achieved my PhD in Electrical Engineering at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia, for which I investigated the longitudinal effects of motor imagery BCI on the sensorimotor repair mechanisms and oscillatory neural dynamics, using advanced signal processing methods. My research journey has most recently brought me to the RIKEN Centre for Brain Science, Japan, where I was researching the dynamic interplay between sleep, episodic memory, and decision-making.
I am thrilled to be part of Til Ole Bergmann’s team and to collaborate and perform cutting-edge research combining cognitive neuroscience with non-invasive brain stimulation techniques with the hope that my outputs shed more light on the neural mechanisms supporting human neurocognitive function across vigilance stages, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for those affected by cognitive/neurological dysfunction.
