Dorina Laurila-Epe
After obtaining my bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Mainz, I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Biomedicine. During my undergraduate degree in biology I assisted in the Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Marburg. Here, I focused on the expression of mRNAs coding for MBL-associated serine proteases in the context of traumatic brain injury in mice.
My interest about neuroscience has increased strongly during my master’s program. Therefore, participating in Dr. Bergmann’s lab for my project work and master thesis allows me to gain deeper insights into neuromodulatory systems and expand my technical skills in non-invasive deep brain stimulation. The main focus of research is on the effects of transcranial ultrasound stimulation on human neuromodulatory systems examined by EEG, pupillometry and MRI.
