After receiving my bachelor's degree in psychology from RWTH Aachen (BSc), I am currently pursuing my master's degree in psychology at Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz (MSc). While my degree programme revolves around mental disorders and psychotherapy, I want to gain specific insight in underlying concepts & networks from a neuroscientific perspective. In my master's thesis at Prof. Til Ole Bergmann's Neurostimulation group I aim to investigate the suppression of emotional memories via entrainment of beta oscillations in the right Inferior Frontal Gyrus (IFG). To me the concurrent application of different neuroimaging and stimulation techniques as well as the relevance of this research area for PTSD treatment are particularly captivating.
